Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Virginia Yu Fund for Social & Economic Justice, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization helping to carry on the legacy and inspiring life of Virginia. She spent much of her life devoted to social justice,  community empowerment, mentoring and counseling traditionally marginalized low-income  youth. For the last five years of her life she was a guidance counselor at Lower East Side Preparatory HIgh School  where she was  dedicated to helping students navigate the school system and encouraging students to do well in school and be socially conscious members of society.

The Scholarship Program will support graduating high school students from historically disenfranchised, immigrant and low-income communities in New York City.  Moreover, the Scholarship Program will recognize and award students who have demonstrated a commitment to social justice in their community through community betterment, change and service. The Scholarship will hopefully defray the costs of college for the recipient.
